Rising of a Rookie

The Boston Bruins lost to the Anaheim Ducks 2-3 on Monday December, 1. This brought their record to 14-10-1 with 29 points in the Atlantic division. Brad Marchand scored his 6th goal of the season with assists from Pastrnak and Trotman. Simon Gagne scored his second goal of the season with assists coming from Paille and Hamilton. The Bruins outshot the Ducks 34-28 but still could not get another goal past Anderson.

There was some good that came out this game though as David Pastrnak scored his first NHL point as he assisted Brad Marchand in the middle of the second period. He is from Havirov, Czech Republic and at 18 years old was the youngest AHL player in the league until he was brought up on November 24. There is a bright future ahead for the young Pastrnak and the Bruins knew that when they picked him in the 1st round (25th overall). On November 28th against the Winnipeg Jets, Pastrnak had a team leading 7 shots.

Rookies first NHL point.
